thesis, but had normal CSF albumin and normal plasma proteins. Similar changes often occur in multiple sclerosis and other chronic and subacute inflammatory diseases of the nervous system but are usually of lesser degree than those observed in our patient.16 Elevations of CSF gamma globulin to levels higher than 30% of the total protein are very unusual in neurological disorders other than subacute sclerosing panencephalitis and chronic rubella panencephalitis. 6 Oligoclonal bands, however, often seen in chronic inflammatory disorders of the nervous system, were not observed in our patient. This patient emphasises the protean clinical manifestations of Behqet disease and suggests that this diagnosis should be entertained in young patients with cerebrovascular disease and evidence of a chronic noninfectious inflammatory CNS process.

Spontaneous Resolution of Symptomatic Thoracic Spine Calcified Disc Herniation: A Case Report and Literature Review
Calcification of intervertebral disc (IVD) is an uncommon but well-defined clinical syndrome in children. Despite its benign nature, occasionally, calcified nucleus pulposus can herniate into the spinal canal. We report an interesting case of calcified disc herniation in the thoracic spine. Although it resulted in cord compression and syrinx formation, it well responded to conservative manageme...
متن کاملLymphangioma of the Thoracic Spine with Epidural Compression: A Case Report
Lymphangiomas are benign lesions consisting of abnormal proliferations of lymphatic vessels. Lymphangiomas associated with bone involvement, particularly in vertebral bodies, accompanied by cord compression, are extremely rare, and our literature review yielded only a few relevant reports. We describe a 61-year-old man presenting with progressive paraparesis and sphincter disturbance of 5 month...
متن کاملAggressive adenoid cystic carcinoma with asymptomatic spinal cord compression revealed by a "curtain sign".
The authors present a case of unusually aggressive adenoid cystic carcinoma of the head and neck. The patient presented with sciatica one year after initial diagnosis. She was otherwise asymptomatic. Complete work-up for bone involvement, included bone scan and MRI. The patient had painful osteolytic sacral metastasis and asymptomatic thoracic (T5) vertebral metastasis revealed by a typical cur...
متن کاملPainful rib hump: a new clinical sign for detecting intraspinal rib displacement in scoliosis due to neurofibromatosis
BACKGROUND Spinal cord compression and associate neurological impairment is rare in patients with scoliosis and neurofibromatosis. Common reasons are vertebral subluxation, dislocation, angulation and tumorous lesions around the spinal canal. Only twelve cases of intraspinal rib dislocation have been reported in the literature. The aim of this report is to present a case of rib penetration thro...
متن کاملComplete Recovery of Thoracic Myelopathy after Eleven Months of Paraplegia: A Case Report
Instances of neurological recovery after early decompression of the spine in non-traumatic spinal cord compression are well documented. We present a patient with paraplegia of 11 months' duration due to atypical spinal tuberculosis who showed complete neurological recovery in three months.
